Well, I’ve now finished the winter training with the local bee keeping group and thoroughly enjoyed it. The speakers we had were great and we all learnt a lot that will be very useful when we get our hives up and running.

Last week we had our first visit of the season to the apiary and there were lots of bees out and visiting the oilseed rape fields. But it is concerning that it’s now got very cold again and the affect it might have on the hives. That’s probably why we haven’t been given our bees yet as they don’t want us to keep inspecting the hives and damaging the colony.
